Our bag CULTURE is part of the HERITAGE SERIES (Bag2/8)

I would like to start by talking about this unique fabric.

This fabric is not from Germany like the other fabrics I use.

It is very difficult to set an age for that kind of fabric, but it should be at least  30- 40 years old. According to the seller, this fabric should come from the border region of Vietnam and Laos. Probably they are weavings of the ethnic groups "Thổ" or the "Mường" Tribe. As I am very interested in this, my research is not finished yet.

This fabric is not from Germany like a lot of the other fabrics I use.

This amazing fabric is a piece of art created by a wonderful hill tribe in the province of Nghệ An, north of Vietnam on the boarder to Laos.

This bag was made out of an amazing fabric, which is was created by a wonderful hill tribe in the province of Nghệ An, north of Vietnam on the boarder to Laos.

I took this gorgeous Vietnamese vintage fabric, dyed it and up cycled it into a unique little cosmetic bag.

Also it is important to know that the fabrics used to create this bag are vintage materials that have existed for many years. A lot of them are also embroiled by hand and not machines so they may have slight imperfections. Telling tales of their past.

The material from which this bag is made is something very special.

It was woven in the traditional way on a wooden frame and comes from Nghệ Ander Province, a border region between Vietnam and Laos.

The work is demanding and time-consuming, which is why these fabrics are special and are valued accordingly. They are often part of the trousseau, a special gift or serve as an ornament on traditional clothing.
