Exactly how old this special kilim fabric is can hardly be estimated, but it most likely dates from the 1970s.
Each bag is then individually cut and processed.
In this particular case, a hip bag.
- vintage kilim fabric, (probably wool)
- high-quality inner lining, beige cashmere/wool mix
- old brass metal zipper
- matching matal buckle/adjuster (gold)
- Decorated with hand made tassels with gold beads

How is such a bag made?
After I have located these fabrics and they have arrived in Berlin, the first thing to do is to clean them. Then they are spread out and patterns are adjusted and modified to use every inch of a given fabric if possible.
When upcycling vintage fabrics without composition labels and washing instructions, I can only rely on my experience and expertise to identify them.
These fabrics are many years old and may show slight imperfections and signs of wear.
